Yvie’s Closet began in 2003 when we as a family realized that DME (Durable Medical Equipment) was not only difficult to access, but incredibly expensive. After trialing a few pieces loaned to us by other families, we decided that it was time to pass on equipment and supplies that others no longer needed. This not only allows families to access equipment in a more timely manner, but it decreases the financial burden on those that provide the funding for such equipment (ie. Insurance companies, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.)
By sharing items you no longer need, you are giving back – and many families cannot access this type of equipment on their own. It is a win-win situation for everyone.
Whether you need a piece of equipment, want to try out a piece, or have equipment your child no longer needs – please consider Yvie’s Closet.
We do not charge for equipment. Donations are accepted to help defray the cost of keeping, cleaning and transporting, but it can be modified or waived when necessary. We have been asked to provide guidelines for this and they start at $25.00 per delivery. Please see agreement for specific guidelines. We do ask that when you are finished with an item, please contact us to re-donate and we will pick up at no charge.
We do request that no equipment is ever used without being thoroughly inspected by a qualified professional. We cannot validate the usefulness, safety or efficacy of any piece. That responsibility is left up to the recipient. We do not repair or recommend any item. We are not trained professionals, we are concerned citizens. Please check with your child’s qualified professional(s) about any equipment and we ask that NO equipment is ever used without inspection, review and recommendation of a qualified professional.
Lastly, we respectfully request that if you find that you are receiving more than you need of any type of supply or equipment, please contact your supplier about reducing or suspending your shipments. We are not looking to receive surplus that is repeated. Overages are the responsibility of the receiving party. We accept outgrown, out-used and no longer needed items that are in usable condition. We in no way condone receiving more items than are necessary for each individual.
Our area is generally limited to Southern NH and Massachusetts. If you are outside of our region, we would be most happy to help you find an organization near you. In some instances we can ship out of state, but our primary mission is out local area.

Great time at Londonderry Old Home Days! Our community is filled with generous and helpful people. So many heard of us for the first time and we are happy about the number of people we are able to help.

What an incredible day of sharing equipment. 2 hours cleaning and sorting then 5 hours of delivering and picking up. Today included stops in Andover, Reading, Lynn, Melrose, Tewksbury then two in Salem NH. Keep it coming! So many children are benefiting from other's generosity. What you no longer need may change the life of another child. Thank you all. ON Monday we will be back in Andover and Chelsea MA. If you are interested in this, please send an email with "email list" in the subject line -to email@example.com and you will be added.
Please take note that effective today, we can only hold items for 24 hours. There has been an incredible increase in requests for equipment and unfortunately an increase in lack of response from others. To be fair to everyone, we can only hold items for 24 hours unless there are special circumstances.
Also, all delivery fees must be paid prior to the release of the equipment.
Another incredible week of Equipment sharing. I don't know if we have dropped off or picked up more equipment and still have more to go. We are still in need of smaller seating with significant supports and transport chairs for smaller children. Thank you to everyone this week!

I apologize to any that have not received a response to phone calls, most specifically during a few weeks earlier this month. Issues with receiving phone calls while out of state. I have returned all of the calls that I can "see" that were missed. If you are still waiting for a return call, please let us know and accept our deepest apologies.
Due to an unforseen technical issue, we have not been receiving some of the "contact us" emails. Updates are being posted. Many new items have arrived over the past few weeks and there are many more not yet listed or photographed. Please keep checking for updates, and ask if there is any particular item you may be looking for.
Though we have been passing on equipment for more than a decade, this site is brand new. Please be patient while we work out the "kinks"
In the few days since the launch of this website, we have "moved" more than 15 pieces of equipment. Please keep our purpose out there.
